An English speaking couple came to my booth this afternoon. The gentleman pointed at the One-Minute Relief poster and asked if it is a product for relieving neck and shoulder pain.
I explained to him that this ancient Chinese stretching and breathing technique is called Short Stick Exercise (SSEx). It can be done alone or with somebody like senior family members with reduced mobility.
By doing this exercise, one may strengthen his flexibility, relieve muscle pain, uplift moods and enhance relationship with the one who exercises with him.
I asked if he wanted to give it a try. He promptly sat down, got hold of the short stick and started exercising with me. After a minute or so, he said his tensed shoulders and spine were relaxed with a sense of ease.
This incident inspired me to write an English version of SSEx for the English speaking community. [15/08]
The English version of Short Stick Exercise has been completed.
If you are interested in learning SSEx, WhatsApp me, Amy Cheung, at 90134441 for more information. [30/08]
I have done the short stick exercises with my father in Tokyo.
He likes it
Thank you so much!
Kanako,
Looking at the photos, especially the second one, it seems that your father's right hand was not holding the short stick as tight as he can.
Ask him to hold the short stick with both hands tightly, feel the difference. [18/07 23:52]
Yes of course
And I will tell him to hold the stick tighter [19/07 19:35]
